Picnic Time!

How about a picnic for a sunny day??

That's right!! more cuppies and another challenge - I'm on a roll!! :o)

I just HAD to try SCS Sketch Challenge #233, and I have to say, this one was much easier!!  (not to mention, I have been dying to use this little picnic cuppies - they're so stinkin' cute & fun to color!!) 

All the patterned paper I used on this is from The Green Stack from DCWV - I just LOVE this paper, it's probably one of my very favorite stacks ever!  The sheets are super thick and textured, plus the colors are yummy!  Of course, I had to throw in some of my now retired (sniff) Riding Hood Red to complete my very earthy picnic!

I have to say I am really enjoying playing along with these challenges!  I also can't wait to break out my new Beach Bum cuppies!  I just have the coolest idea for a fun and "beachy" card.. gotta go play!!

Summer Fun & a Sketch!

I'm baaack!! And what an amazing time spent at Disney!! I can't wait to show you some pictures (I only took about 500, I kid you not!)  We had SUCH fun, and the best part? I got THE best tan ever!! (of course I wont be so happy in 20 years when I'm all shriveled up like a prune) BUT for now, I'm lovin' my new "summer fun" shade!

Speaking of summer, look who's here to kick it all off:

I was drooling over Jen Del Muro's Blog this evening (isn't she amazing???) and I stumbled onto this SFYTT post.

I thought this it was such a cool sketch I just HAD to try it!  I'm not sure if there are any deadlines or anything, but I was itching to try it! Mind you, you would think I would find it easier to follow a sketch since all the hard work is done for you, but more often than not I just sit these obsessing that all the elements are just exactly the size/shape as the sketch..go figure

This card seemed like the perfect time to ink up this funky summer cuppie from my  A Year of Sweets set.  I also used up some of the fun papers and accessories from my March Key Ingredients.  (SO lovin' the patterned paper included)!!  Anyway, after trying to follow Jen's sketch religiously, this is what I came up with:

 Is this a "little" bright or what??  My cuppie is colored using Copics, and may I say Memento Tuxedo Black ink rocks big time!! (THANK youJodi) NO heat setting, no waiting, no smearing - just good times!! 

(Hmnn, so I guess this means I can't blame my less than perfect shading on the ink anymore?? )

Whirlwind weekend!

What a busy weekend!  NO time to stamp at all!! Actually, that's not entirely true - I did stay up until 3 AM on Thursday making Nick's birthday invitations (and they're just SO stinkin' cute, but do you think I took pictures??) Of course not - I will though, since I was smart enough to keep one somewhere in the midst of the mess on my desk!!  

Aside from that, the past few days have been an absolute blur, in between getting ready for Disney, and making a short road trip to a very special graduation. 

What an exciting, and fun weekend for all of us:

Did I tell you??

OMG!! I completely forgot to share - we decided we needed a vacation desperately!! SO I'm happy to report we are Disney bound:

I am so excited!!! I already threatened Rae that there will be no phones, blackberrys, computers (HA!) or anything of the sort!! LOL.. not ever going to happen, but at least we'll be away! 

Of course, this just takes SO much planning and running around - who knew there was so much to do - especially when you're surrounded by men who are absolutely NO HELP!! (I guess that's just me?? lol..)

Anyway, I am SO excited, and of course I'll be sharing tons of pics! any helpful hints would be greatly appreciated!!  I can't believe it's less that a week away!! These past couple of months have just flown by!!

So excited to hang with Mickey & Friends!

I hope you all had a fun weekend!!  I am just draggin' my hiney around today..and trust me - it is NOT a pretty sight!!

I want to thank all of the awesome ladies who played along with my color challenge this weekend!   I had so much fun looking through all the entries, and I think overall everyone liked the bold bright colors right??

So now that I got my very first artist to share in my brand hew home, I am thrilled to share the card I chose from those submitted in the CDS Weekend Color Challenge!

I just loved all the texture Christi created with the inks she used and of course all the layers really make everything look just purr-fect!!   What a fun card!!

I have to tell you, I AM SOOO loving this color combo! it's so retro and fun!  I decided I would make a funky baby card using Ernie Elephant.. how could one not love this little guy?? So stinkin' cute!!

Notice Ernie is wearing PJs?? (well to me, they reminded me of those cute little pajamas with feet babies wear :o), anyhoo, I stamped Ernie's PJs using the little teeny heart in CDS' Monkey Madness stamp set! super easy right?  just the perfect size too! 

I am definitely lovin' this look - it's definitely simple, but still has a lot of "pop" :o) 

I hope you guys have fun playing with these colors!  I am so excited to see your creations, and I cannot wait to see who will be my every first featured stamper at my new humble abode!!

Sassy HockeyBella!

Last month I received the cutest bunch of images of Hockeymomabella in the mail, courtesy of the very lovely Gena!  What a fun surprise!!   I just HAD to make a quick little card with one of my new images - especially because it's a BELLA!! I haven't played with any of these babies in a really loong time!!! They're SO cute!!

I have to tell ya, my coloring seems to be a bit off..I suppose that means I'm all rusty and gross - time to do some major practicing!!  For some reason I cant seem to not make a big ol' mess over my shading - this was my second "draft", since the first Bella looked like she had falllen face-first into a makeup counter - SO not cool!!

This was a quick & simple little card, but lots of fun!! I am so in love with these SU! grommets - of course, mind you this is the first time I use them, but I know I will be using them up quickly!

I used some of my very favorite pacific point ribbon.. I can't believe this ribbon is on its way out!! OMG!! what will I do??? Is anyone else hurting over the retirement of this color??? OY!!  I am going to be crying for weeks over riding hood red too..Time to stock up!!  (am I the only one that takes this stuff a little too seriously? LOL..)

I'm sending this little bella off to Gena to thank her for cheering up my mailbox!! Hope she likes her!!

Movin' on!!

Hi everyone!!

I'm so excited to tell you that I have officially crawled out from under my rock and also to let you know I moved!!

After my little "vacation", I decided I needed a fresh new start and considering the lovely Amy Celona set up a wordpress blog for me literally eons ago, I figured I might as well use it!  Amy set up a feedburner subscription widget, so I BEG you to please subscribe as I plan on posting daily (or as close to daily) as possible! 

I am so excited about this new place, and Im more excited to get back on track!  I'm still working on setting it all up, but I hope you guys will consider joining me in my new HOME:

Summer Splash!

Happy Monday loves!!

I finally inked up my "prettie" Make a Splash Sophia!!!  That bad influence Jodi made me sign up for the stamp of the month club and I LOVE these girls!!

Just to get my hiney moving again I used SCS Sketch Challenge 231 for this card, and what an awesome sketch it is!!  Perfect for using those small pieces of paper we hang on to for years (It can't only be me right??).  I happen to LOVE this paper - it's a very vintage look form K & Co.  (the name of course, escapes me at the moment) but anyway, I wanted to make Sophia very girly and pink!  Isn't she too cute? 

Sophia is colored using Copics (I thought my babies would be dried up as I hadn't used them in years, but luckily, they are just purrfect!)  I added paper-pieceing on all my panels and a little bling just to finish up that little bow! 

(sorry about the funky lighting on these - for some reason my camera was not cooperating!!) I promise it's much cute IRL!!
